Emily Finn

Emily Finn is an assistant professor in the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at Dartmouth College. Her lab studies how within- and across-individual variability in brain activity relates to variability in subjective experience, especially in naturalistic and narrative-like conditions. She completed her Ph.D. in neuroscience at Yale and her postdoctoral training at the National Institute of Mental Health, after earning a B.A. in linguistics, also from Yale. She has received the Cognitive Neuroscience Society Young Investigator Award (2025) and the Janet Taylor Spence Award for transformative early-career contributions from the Association for Psychological Science (2026).
